RMPDC is managed by a team of doctors, academics and experts in the fields of drug development, toxicity and consumer product safety.

Richard C. Dart, MD, PhD

Since 1992 Dr. Dart has served as the Director of the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center.  He is the Executive Director of Researched Abuse, Diversion, and Addiction-Related Surveillance (RADARS® System) and is also the chairman of the Denver Health Authority Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.  Dr. Dart has published more than 175 papers and chapters as well as served as editor for the first edition of The 5-Minute Toxicology Consult and the 3rd edition of Medical Toxicology

In 2002 he was recognized with a special citation from the Commissioner of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.  He was the 2004 recipient of the American College of Medical Toxicology Matthew J. Ellenhorn Award for Excellence in Medical Toxicology.  Currently Dr. Dart serves as a Deputy Editor of the medical journal Annals of Emergency Medicine and is President-Elect of the American Association of Poison Control Centers. 

Dr. Dart is trained as a medical doctor specializing in emergency medicine and toxicology.  He is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Medical Toxicology. 

Kurt Ammon, MBA

Mr. Ammon joined RMPDC in 2001.  He was instrumental in reorganizing the operation to provide quality assurance and quality control to meet FDA requirements and client specifications.

Prior to joining RMPDC, Mr. Ammon spent 18 years with a CRO providing contract laboratory services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.  During this time, he was in a technical role providing research and development and later became the Director of Operations and General Manager.

Mr. Ammon has held various offices in and remains active with the Rocky Mountain Chapters of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the Rocky Mountain Regulatory Affairs Society (RMRAS) and The Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE).

Mr. Ammon received his B.A. in Biology from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, CO, and later his M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix, Denver, CO.

Gregory M Bogdan, PhD

Dr. Bogdan joined RMPDC in 1995 to direct operations of the Research and Consulting division specializing in antidote drug development, analgesics research, prescription drug abuse surveillance, clinical trial management, adverse event medical monitoring and public health preparedness activities.

Dr. Bogdan is the administrator of the Denver Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS) grant, a primary resource for planning and response to mass casualty incidents and serves on the faculty of the Rocky Mountain Center for Medical Response to Terrorism, Mass Casualties and Epidemics.  He has been awarded two Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality (AHRQ) task orders to develop models for utilizing medical call centers to respond to public health emergencies. He has been the lead or contributing author of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications.

Anna Seroka, BSN, Med, RN

Ms. Seroka is currently the Operations Manager for the Rocky Mountain Poison Center where she oversees the Center’s operations as well as client management for five states and over 90 private clients. She also oversees operations for the Nurse Advice Line and its clients and the Denver Health Appointment Center.

Ms. Seroka began at RMPDC as the Project Manager responsible for designing and implementing the COHELP line in 2002. Her past experience includes:  Director of Medical Services at University Hospital, VP of Operations for a national medical call center, URAC accredited National Call Center Consultant and a Health Consultant for Edelman Public Relations in New York for their health related consumer hot line promotions.

She received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Cooperative Nursing from Cedar Crest College, Allentown, Pennsylvania and a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.  She also holds certificates in Management, Sales and Marketing and Accounting. 

Kennon Heard, MD

Dr. Heard currently serves as Medical Toxicology Fellowship Director at the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center and Section chief of Medical Toxicology at the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine where he is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Medicine.

He works and teaches at the University Of Colorado Hospital Emergency Department, and his research interests include cocaine toxicity, misuse of over-the-counter analgesics, acetaminophen poisoning, and research design.  He has authored over 40 papers and book chapters in various areas of emergency medicine and medical toxicology. 

Dr. Heard attended medical school at the University of California, San Diego.  His post-graduate training includes a residency in emergency medicine at Denver Health Medical Center and a medical toxicology fellowship at The Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
