Richard C. Dart, M.D. Ph.D. has served as the director of the RMPDC since 1992 and is a renowned expert in pharmacology and toxicology. Dr. Dart has published more than 175 papers, chapters, reviews, editorials and letters. He was editor of the first edition of “the Five Minute Toxicology Consult and the Third Edition of Medical Toxicology, the industry’s reference and text book.
Dr. Dart was the 2004 recipient of the American College of Medical Toxicology Matthew J. Ellenhorn Award for Excellence in Medical Toxicology.
Gregory M. Bogdan, Ph.D. joined RMPDC in 1995 to direct operations of the Research and Consulting division; specializing in antidote drug development, analgesics research, prescription drug abuse surveillance, clinical trial management, adverse event medical monitoring and public health preparedness activities. He is administrator of the Denver Metropolitan Medical Response System (MMRS) grant, a primary resource for planning and response to mass casualty incidents and serves on the faculty of the Rocky Mountain Center for Medical Response to Terrorism, Mass Casualties and Epidemics. Dr. Bogdan has been awarded two Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality (AHRQ) task orders to develop models for utilizing medical call centers to respond to public health emergencies. He has been the lead or contributing author of more than 25 peer-reviewed publications.
Kurt Ammon joined RMDC in 2001 with responsibility for all facets of the Drug Center operation including business, operations and marketing/sales. He was instrumental in reorganizing the operation to provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control to meet Food and Drug Administration requirements and client specifications. Mr. Ammon has held various offices in, and remains active with, the Rocky Mountain Chapters of the American Chemical Society (ACS), the Rocky Mountain Regulatory Affairs Professionals (RAPS) and The Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE). Mr. Ammon received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Biology from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and later, a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix in Denver, Colorado.
Deb Scherger manages the RMPDC information and telecommunications departments providing the technology vision and leadership for developing and implementing the information technology to support the RMPDC business vision, mission, and objectives. Ms. Scherger joined the RMPDC as a poison information specialist in 1982. Over the years Ms. Scherger has contributed to the organization in various roles including poison center assistant head nurse, executive director with an emphasis on fund raising, special projects coordinator, projects manager and technology management. In 2002 she earned a Master’s of Science in Nursing Informatics from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center Graduate School of Nursing. Ms. Scherger has six publications and numerous professional presentations to her credit.
David Daley is the Information Systems Manager at the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center. He is responsible for day-to-day voice and data operations, support of three 24-hour medical call centers, development of new information technology solutions, evaluation and selection of new information system and telecom software, and providing advisement on information system impacts to new contracts and grants. Previously, Daley held senior technical positions at Bank One and completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.
Ms. Brockmeier earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration with a minor in economics in 1986 from Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She has worked in both the public and private sectors in support and management roles. Since joining Denver Health’s Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center in 1989, she has served in budget, finance, grants and contracts roles and is currently the Grants and Contracts Manager.
Kennon Heard attended medical school at the University of California San Diego. His post-graduate training includes a residency in Emergency Medicine at Denver Health Medical Center and a Medical Toxicology Fellowship at The Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. His current positions are Medical Toxicology Fellowship Director at the Rocky Mountain Poison and Drug Center and Section chief of Medical Toxicology at the University Of Colorado School Of Medicine where he is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Medicine. He works and teaches at the University Of Colorado Hospital Emergency Department. His research interests include cocaine toxicity, misuse of over-the-counter analgesics, acetaminophen poisoning, and research design. He has authored over 40 papers and book chapters in various areas of Emergency Medicine and Medical Toxicology.
